In the historic town of Kuwana City, Mie Prefecture, stands a 130-year-old renovated traditional house, offered as a private accommodation for two groups per day. The owner, who has long cherished our furniture, invited us to participate in the renovation of the main building (the common building). To ensure that each guest has a fulfilling experience, we proposed furniture with materials that complement the character of the building and a layout that offers flexible usage.
The owner specified the VASCA 19 sofa, a favorite in their home. We selected spacious square units to accommodate various lounging styles, whether sitting with children or sitting cross-legged. Complementing the rich texture of the wooden structure, we chose a solid wood center table.VASCA 19 With the aim of maximizing the generous 100 square meters of space, including the loft, we ensured that the furniture did not dominate the room.
In the dining area, a large solid wood table is paired with a circular high table. This arrangement creates varying eye levels, allowing two groups of guests to comfortably share the space simultaneously.
